The Morley-IAS MI-DCMO control output module is used with the ZX series of intelligent conrol panels to provide either a single alarm circuit or Form C relay. The MI-DCMO can be used to operte dry contacts for door holders, air handling unit shut down or other similar functions. Optionally the module can be used to supervise wiring to the ouput load providing monitoring of the external load voltage or power supply. If the monitored voltage falls below threshold then a fault condition will be indicated. Each MI-DCMO uses one of the ninety-nine possible module addresses available on a loop. It responds to regular polling from the conrtol panel indicated by a pulsing LED every successful communication. On command from the control panel the MI-DCMO will disconnect the supervision and connnect the external power supply across the load. The disconnection of the supervision provides a positive indication to the control panel that the relay is activated. The MI-DCMO has a built-in isolator which may be switched out if required. The MI-DCMO uses a unique mechanical design allowing each module to be mounted either in a wall box (M200-SMB) or on a DIN rail (using M200-DIN). Irrespective of the mounting method chosen, the address switch is both visible and accessible for selection. To help engineers in the maintenance and fault finding process, both the LEDs and the address switches can be viewed without having to remove the cover of the mounting box. The LEDs, being multi colour, provide diagnostic information regarding the status of the output. For ease of installation, testing and maintenance, the field wiring terminals are of a plug in design.

The MI-DCZRM addressable zone monitor module allows a zone of nonaddressable devices to communicate with a Morley-IAS protocol analogue addressable system. As a result existing non-addressable zones can be integrated into a Morley-IAS protocol system. The module monitors a zone of two-wire non-addressable devices. Each MIDCZRM uses one of 99 available module addresses on a loop. A fault signal will be transmitted to the panel in case of an open circuit or short circuit on the nonaddressable zone wiring or when the external fault input is pulled low (can be used for power supply monitoring). A flashing LED indicates that the module is in communication with the control panel. The LED latches steady on alarm (subject to current limitations). The non-addressable zone can be powered from the analogue communication loop or from an external power supply. Where the non-addressable zone is powered from an external power supply, the communication loop is fully isolated from the non-addressable zone and from the power supply. The zone monitor module replaces the MI-CZME but can be mounted onto a DIN rail. It can also be powered from the addressable loop and allows integration of non-addressable zones into an addressble system. This module enables non-addressable devices to be monitored by Morley-IAS protocol analogue addressable fire alarm control panels. The maximum recommended number of non-addressable devices that can be used with the MI-DCZRM is 20.

The Linear Heat Detection Cable (LHDC) is a continuous heat detector in the form of a cable. It can detect heat at any points along its entire length. The cable is composed of two twisted shield conductors insulated with a heat sensitive polymer, then wrapped with a protective tape and finished with an outer covering. Linear Heat Detection Cable is available in resettable and non-resettable technology. The non-resettable cable is described as Digital and the resettable as Analogue. 800 Series Digital LHD Cable (Non-Resettable) The 800 series is a fixed temperature and non-resettable digital cable. The cable contains insulators which melt at a specific temperature. At the rated temperature, the heat sensitive polymeric insulation creates pressure between conductors, permitting them make contact with each other thereby initiating an alarm signal at the control panel. The LHDC is installed in conjunction with an end-of-line (EOL) device for continuity monitoring and a junction box (optional) for leader wire connection. 900 Series Analogue LHD Cable (Resettable) The 900 series is an analogue heat sensing cable containing insulators of which resistance varies proportionally to changes in temperature. Analogue cable is installed in conjunction with an end-of-line (EOL) device for continuity monitoring and a modulator providing selectable alarm thresholds (programmed before shipping), fire and fault outputs. This cable is self- restorable after the fire event as long as its temperature does not exceed specified resettable temperature limit of 120°C (248°F). Alarm temperature setting ranges between 70°C to 130°C (158°F to 266°F). Customer can specify its own alarm temperature setting. The factory default setting is set at 85°C (185°F).

System Sensor Model BEAM1224 is a four-wire conventional reflected beam smoke detector, which is uniquely suited for protecting open areas with high ceilings, where other methods of smoke detection are difficult to install and maintain. It is to be used with UL Listed compatible control panels only. An advantage of this single-ended reflective design is that it is much easier to install than the dual-ended projected beam detectors. Alignment is quickly accomplished via an optical sight and a two-digit signal strength meter incorporated into the product. Another advantage of the BEAM1224 is that it is listed for operation in temperatures ranging from –22°F to 131°F. This means it can be used in open areas to provide early warning in environments where temperature extremes may exceed the capability of other types of smoke detectors. BEAM1224 consists of a transmitter/receiver unit and a reflector. When smoke enters the area between the unit and the reflector, the smoke causes a reduction in the signal. When the smoke level reaches the predetermined threshold, an alarm is activated. BEAM1224 has four standard sensitivity selections, along with two Acclimate™ settings (adjustable sensitivity). When one of the two Acclimate settings is selected, the detector will automatically adjust its sensitivity using advanced software algorithms to choose the optimum sensitivity for the specific environment. BEAM1224S is also equipped with an integral sensitivity test feature, which consists of a test filter attached to a servo motor inside the detector optics. When the remote test station RTS451 /RTS151 is used, the motor is activated and moves the filter into the pathway of the light beam, to test the detector’s sensitivity. The Morley-IAS loop isolator module is used on the Morley-IAS intelligent fire alarm control panels to protect the system against wire-to-wire short circuits on the analogue addressable loop wiring. The fault isolator modules should be placed between groups of sensors on the loop wiring to protect the loop if a short circuit fault occurs. If a short circuit fault occurs, the two isolators located either side of the short circuit fault will automatically sense the voltage drop, open their switches and remove the devices from the rest of the loop. If the line voltage then rises above a fixed threshold, indicating that the short circuit fault is removed, then the isolator module will automatically restore the power to the isolated group of devices. The MI-DISO isolator uses a unique mechanical design allowing each module to be mounted either in a wall box or on a DIN rail. Irrespective of the mounting method chosen, the address switch is both visible and accessible for selection. The HM-PSE-I Photoelectric Smoke Detectors smoke detector has a completely new detection chamber design, the result of many years of research and development. This delivers improved responsiveness, reduced sensitivity changes caused by settling dust and reduced false alarms resulting from insect ingress and other debris.

The plug-in unit uses sophisticated processing circuitry that incorporates smoothing filters to help eliminate transient environmental noise conditions that can be the cause of unwanted alarms.

The devices are managed by embedded software running complex algorithms that further improve resilience to false alarms and improve detection speed. The MI-PSE-S2 has two integral tri-colour LEDs that provide 360° local visual indication of the device status. The LEDs are programmable with static or blinking red, amber and green status indications available.
